The land of a thousand hills has regained her tourism potentials and has been considered as one of the fastest safari destinations in Africa as a whole. For you to view the mountain gorillas, you have to go Volcanoes National park Rwanda. Other parks to visit include; Nyungwe forest national park is located in the Southwestern part of Rwanda and borders with Burundi to the south and Lake Kivu and the democratic Republic of Congo to the west. It was established in the year 2004 to protect primate species including the chimpanzees which were hunted for trade meat among other reasons.

The national park is one of the most visited national park and not only in the East but also in the central republic of Africa. The main activities in this park include; Chimpanzee tracking. Tracking these apes will take half or full days as meeting them depends on where they spent the last night from. You will be required to have some levels of physical fitness because it involves passing through the muddy and thick forest. As soon as you encounter  these giants, you will spend strictly one hour while studying their behaviors and taking photos as well as enjoying them, praying on fruitful trees.

A way from the gorillas, the other  primates  include; black and white colobus monkeys, Angolan monkey and owl-faced monkey, the white- bearded L’ hoest’s monkey, the large troops of the acrobatic, Angolan colobus monkey and various species of birds. These activities are regarded as one of the most interesting within the park and they provide a dizzying platform where visitors get a chance at the eye level with different species and birds.

The canopy walk in the forest is also very interesting. It consists of bridges between trees in the canopy of a forest mostly linked up with platforms inside or around the trees. It is a walkway of 40 meters above the ground level and approximately o meters long above a steep deep valley.

The cultural walk is also carried out within the park. It is regarded as an interesting activity since the tourist in the area do  interact with the local community as they reveal their talents in singing, dancing and drama, how they make weaves and hunting skills among other. Tourists who are interested in learning more about the behaviors of the local people in Rwanda.

The activity of bird watching is also very interesting in Nyungwe National Park. A number of bird species do exist thus birders or people who are interested in bird watching are of great advantage in the park. The forest is gifted with over 300 bird species and the activity is done either during day or in the evening. The most common types of bird species are; shoebill stock, great blue Turaco, a stunning created birds as well as migrant birds attracted by seasonal fluctuations in water levels among others. Because of all this, the Republic of Rwanda has been looked at as the birders paradise.
